Who writes these notes

The byline belongs to the institution. The responsibility doesn't.

Responsible editor

Rodrigo Cornejo runs the Mamífero editorial line. Every note published at mamiferolab.com/notas goes through his editing before it leaves draft status. Nothing is published automatically.

Rodrigo is the founder of Mamífero, a communicator with a background in journalism, digital reputation and SEO. He has worked in media and in strategic communication for brands in Chile and Latin America.

How a note is chosen

A note is written only when three conditions hold at once:

  1. There is a verifiable fact, dated and attributable to a primary source. No fact, no note.
  2. The fact has consequences for someone making decisions about brand, communication, technology or business in Chile or Latin America.
  3. We have something to say that the source doesn't. If our only contribution would be translating a source from English, we don't publish.

These criteria are laid out in our editorial guidelines (in Spanish), the document that governs every published note.

How we verify

Every note is anchored in the primary source: the official document, the paper, the public record, the enacted law, the court ruling, the financial statement. If we learn about something through a news outlet, we look for the original document and link to that.

We don't publish any fact we haven't checked at its origin. If it couldn't be verified, we say so: “as reported by X, with no official confirmation to date.”

Sources are attributed in the body of the note and listed at the end with a direct link to the document.

How we correct

If a note contains a factual error, it is corrected in the body and the update date is added. Errors are corrected openly, not quietly.

If the error is one of framing or interpretation, the affected block is revised and the date updated. If the correction substantially changes the original reading, we say so at the foot of the note.

Use of artificial intelligence

Note drafts are assisted by a platform based on language models that we built in 2025. The system finds sources, structures the information and produces a first draft that follows the fixed architecture described in our editorial guidelines.

Every note is edited by a person before it is published. No draft reaches the site without the editor's intervention.

Editing is not a formality: it is the mechanism that keeps the voice real rather than a statistical imitation of itself. It includes fact-checking, reframing, calibrating the tone and the editorial decision about what gets published and what doesn't.

We disclose our use of AI because we think that is safer than leaving it out. What gets penalized — by search engines and by reader trust alike — is not the use of tools, but the absence of visible human responsibility.

The byline

Notes are signed Mamífero. It is an editorial decision: the byline is institutional, but the responsibility lies with a named person. Every note carries the line “Edited by Rodrigo Cornejo” at the foot.

The schema of each note declares author as an Organization (Mamífero) and editor as a Person (Rodrigo Cornejo), following Google's quality guidelines as of September 2025.

The English edition

Mamífero writes in Spanish. The notes at mamiferolab.com/notes are AI-assisted translations of the Spanish originals, published once the original is. Each one links to its original, and the Spanish text is the reference version: if the two ever differ, the original prevails.
