What happened
- On September 28, Meta announced the launch of Meta Enterprise Platform, a division aimed at selling its artificial intelligence technology to organizations.
- Chirantan Desai becomes head of the enterprise platform and reports directly to Mark Zuckerberg. Desai was CEO and president of MongoDB, and before that held leadership roles at Cloudflare and ServiceNow.
- The unit groups products that already exist: the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, the Muse API and Muse Code.
- The announcement includes no prices, availability dates or launch markets. Zuckerberg grounds the move in the scale of the company’s infrastructure and its experience serving hundreds of millions of businesses.
Why it matters
- Meta is arriving late and knows it: Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Salesforce have been selling agents to companies for two years. The advantage it claims isn’t technical; it’s distribution, and in Latin America that distribution is called WhatsApp.
- For a Chilean small business that already serves customers on WhatsApp, a Meta enterprise agent doesn’t require switching channels or teaching anyone a new system. That’s an adoption cost competitors can’t match on price.
- An announcement without a price or a date isn’t a product. It’s a signal to investors and a warning to competitors that the messaging channel is coming into play.
The number
Zero: prices, dates and markets announced in the press release.
Context
At Connect 2026, Meta had given its Muse agent its own email and put it in the glasses. The company also admitted that Muse was inspired by OpenClaw, right down to the SOUL.md file. Now that same agent becomes the basis of an enterprise offering.
What’s next
- No availability dates announced for any of the unit’s products.
- No information on the pricing model or on data processing terms for organizations.
Bottom line
Accenture and Google Cloud have already placed 1,000 engineers inside client companies to install this kind of deployment. Meta comes in with a different card: the channel where the conversation already happens. What remains to be seen is how much it will charge for it.
